Shorter... maybe sweeter?
"Details are the difference between the good stuff and the great stuff."

----------
I just posted a long winded tale of Tiffany and her latest diagnosis. It's long. It's detailed. I recognize this. If you want to know the full story - the "great stuff" - feel free to go back two posts and read on. I will let you know why I did that below. But for those that want the shorter synopsis, here it is:
----------
Tiffany had back problems. She got a CT scan on it. Results on the back came back fine but the radiologist found a dark spot on the liver from the same scan. A biopsy was done and it came back as cancer - Adenocarcinoma in the liver, non primary. Meaning it spread from somewhere else to the liver. Tiffany has gone through many tests and scans since the biopsy to try to find the primary cancer - where it spread from. The doctors need to know where it came from to treat it correctly. After many tests and scans, they can't say for certain where it came from and so Tiffany was sent to a doctor who specializes in cancers with unknown primary's. In discussion with him, everything points to this starting in the bile ducts that feed the liver, gall bladder and pancreas. He wants to start treatment with that assumption - meaning chemotherapy. However, we will continue to look for other areas it might be in case it really didn't start where the signs are pointing. Nonetheless, Tiffany will go through two rounds of chemotherapy which will take about two months. At that point we will do additional scans and tests and see if the things we do see are being knocked down, if they are aggressive and growing, or still the same. At that point additional decisions will be made in how to proceed, likely with more chemo until we can knock it out and away from Tiffany's ravaged body.
We are grateful we found this in the way we did - we are hopeful that by catching it the way we did and when we did we caught it early. Time will only tell. Please pray for her. We know and feel the power of prayers and if you want to do something - well - pray.

I recognize some people don't want to read through the details of the previous post. But I don't write for you, at least not entirely. I write in part because it is a way for me to process this latest chapter of our life and a way to document what is going on. It was long because I was trying to remember all that has transpired over a period of time. But yes, I also write because this becomes a way we can share with people what is going on with Tiffany without having to explain it all. We just don't have time to tell everyone the story when they ask for details.
We also don't mind sharing them. We do hope that in some odd way it might be an uplift to someone. Because as scary as things are, we see silver linings and tender mercies everywhere. In fact, as we start this latest journey, Tiffany said recently,
"I can't wait to see the tender mercies and miracles that we will experience because of this."
That should tell you where she is at in both mind and spirit as she starts this latest, greatest, fun experience.
Cheers,
Fred aka Nathan
Thanks for sharing Nathan! I enjoy your writing and the length doesn't bother me. I appreciate the detail! You guys are awesome! We'll be praying for you!
